Hockey NT and Steel Builder Australia Partner to Strengthen Territory Stingers Pathway

Hockey NT has announced a three-year partnership with Steel Builder Australia, who will become the exclusive Naming Rights Partner of the NT Junior State Team Program (U14, U16, U18, U21 Men & Women).

Under the agreement, Steel Builder Australia will be recognised as a Major Partner of Hockey NT and a key supporter of the Northern Gateway Initiative (NGI) – strengthening pathways for Territory athletes to compete on the national and international stage.

The partnership embeds Steel Builder Australia’s brand across uniforms, livestreams, community outreach, and major events, including the U18 National Championships hosted in Darwin in 2026 and 2027.

A Boost for Territory Pathways

Jason Butcher, CEO of Hockey NT, said:

“This partnership improves our ability to resource our pathway programs, ensuring Territory athletes have greater access to the support they need to develop and succeed. It is a significant step for Hockey NT as our momentum continues to position us as an attractive partner for businesses committed to community and opportunity, while also strengthening the Territory’s economy through sporting opportunities and building relationships into Southeast Asia and Oceania.”

Building Strong Foundations

Arthur Visedo, CEO of Steel Builder Australia, said:

“We’re backing the Territory Stingers and the Northern Gateway Initiative because we believe in building strong foundations—on the field and across the Territory. Over the life of this partnership, we intend to invest in the Northern Territory by supporting the development of infrastructure and generating employment opportunities for Territorians, while helping young athletes access elite pathways.”

Steel Builder Australia’s presence will be seen immediately across the rebranded junior state team uniforms in 2026 and upcoming event promotions, starting with the Festival of Hockey games against the Indonesian national teams on 20–21 September.

Looking Ahead

The partnership will feature prominently at major Territory hockey events including the Festival of Hockey, future Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) home games, and the National Junior Championships to be hosted in Darwin.

From 2026, Hockey NT will rebrand its junior state teams under the Stingers banner and promote Steel Builder Australia with pride as part of that journey.
