Territory Stingers and Trident Events Join Forces for Malaysian Hockey League Campaigns

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – February 18, 2025

Hockey Northern Territory (HNT) and Trident Events Malaysia have officially signed a three-year partnership agreement to support the Territory Stingers as they compete in the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL).

This collaboration will provide the team with essential logistical support, including accommodation, transportation, and event coordination, allowing the players to focus entirely on their performance.

At the signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, HNT CEO Jason Butcher and Trident Events Malaysia Director Suren Indran formalised the agreement, reinforcing their shared commitment to high-performance hockey and strengthening the ties between the Northern Territory and Malaysia.

Laying the Foundations for Future Success

“We’re excited to have Trident Events on board as we start to plan for our future MHL campaigns,” said Jason Butcher. “Their support will provide the team with a strong foundation off the field, allowing our players to focus entirely on competing at the highest level. This partnership reflects our long-term vision of Malaysia being our home in Southeast Asia.”

Following the official signing, the Stingers were treated to a traditional Malaysian meal, experiencing the hospitality of their hosts and embracing the cultural connection that underpins this partnership.

The Pathway Ahead

The Territory Stingers’ participation in the Malaysian Hockey League through to 2028 is a key step in rebuilding their program and creating meaningful pathways for players, coaches, and umpires.

This partnership will ensure the Territory Stingers have the support they need to compete, grow, and develop within the MHL and beyond.
