TigerTurf Joins Territory Stingers as Academy Major Sponsor

Hockey Northern Territory (HNT) is thrilled to announce TigerTurf as the new major sponsor of the Territory Stingers Academy. This key partnership marks a significant step in supporting the growth of high-performance hockey in the Northern Territory, and will play a vital role in developing the Stingers' senior program as they venture into Asia and the Malaysian Hockey League. TigerTurf's commitment to the Academy highlights their belief not only in the Stingers' vision but also in the importance of fostering Australian hockey at all levels.

Jason Butcher, CEO of Hockey NT, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring its alignment with HNT’s long-term goals:

“This support will be delivered straight back into the community, with a focus on reducing costs and increasing accessibility for aspiring athletes. TigerTurf’s backing enables us to not only strengthen the Stingers Academy but also supports the long term viability of us expanding our connection into Southeast Asia and Oceania. This will support opening new doors for Territory athletes to compete and develop on a national and international level. We are incredibly grateful to TigerTurf and excited to welcome them into the Stingers family.”

TigerTurf’s involvement will play a key role in providing opportunities for young Territory athletes by making hockey more accessible and affordable. Their support aligns with HNT’s mission to grow participation at the grassroots level and offer strong development pathways for emerging talent. By removing financial barriers, more families and athletes can engage in hockey and pursue their sporting aspirations. This partnership reinforces HNT’s commitment to fostering a community-driven approach to the sport, emphasising growth and inclusion.

Nick Kerr, National Sales and Marketing Manager at TigerTurf, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the long-term nature of their support:

“This is a long-term commitment from TigerTurf, and we are proud to be part of the momentum driving the growth of Territory hockey. We share Hockey NT’s vision to make the sport more accessible to everyone in the community. Through this partnership, we are supporting both local development and contributing to a bold, exciting future for the sport in the Northern Territory. We are thrilled to be part of this journey and look forward to the continued success of hockey in the region.”

This partnership not only strengthens local talent development but also supports Hockey NT’s goal of building strong regional connections. By fostering relationships with a growing network of partners, HNT is creating more opportunities for Territory athletes and expanding the reach of hockey in the Northern Territory.
